Closer ... closer ... closer

The documents for the transfer of the house are at the Deeds office and should be done by Friday ... latest Monday (which I know the agents say to cover the hineys).
By Wednesday (7 days away) we should have the keys to our new home!!! Unbelievable! Exciting! Finally!
The packing in behind as I've been working and life got in the way along with kids and drama and the change in jobs and ... and ... and ... a slight case of 'who know's what the hell is wrong with me' to boot.
But, by all accounts and purposes, we'll be moved before the end of August ... now the real work MUST begin and I need to pull on my energy reserves and GET IT DONE!!

The frostbite run was not as frosty as we'd expected for which I sent silent prayers of thanks, but it was pretty ... oh so very very pretty.
I have some photos on my facebook profile if you wanna take a look.
Had best dash again, snuck on here and am hoping to head home in the next few minutes :-)

Worth a visit

There are a good few here that I sure miss ... in particular No. 66 and 46 'cause it does not usually snow down here in our part of Africa and its hard to find Reese' peanut butter cups in the stores, they're usually in speciality stores and there are none near my house :-(
~::~ ~::~ ~::~
We have a busy weekend planned - a friend is getting married tomrorow afternoon and G-man and I are booked to do the 'Frost Bite Run' on Sunday morning. It's quite insane!! It's been cold and leaving the house at 04:30 is going to be a challenge ... but we have fun on these rides, so I know it's usually worth the pain. It's the middle of winter and we're planning on meeting the other riders for departure time of 05:00 to ride out to the Drakensberg for breakfast. It should surely be fun and I'll be sure to add some pictures!
In other news, all is going okay. all papers are signed for the house, it's really just a waiting game now to hear when the documents are registered and then we can arrange occupation date. I'm really excited, but am way behind on the packing! Of course, there won't be any packing done this weekend! But next week I need to get my touchie in gear and get going on it as there is LOTS to do!!!
Hope your weekend is filled with lots of fun and laughter!
'Til next time, ciao

FOR TODAY

Outside my window...I see that winter is being kind to the garden so far and the banana tree is growing wildly.

I am thinking...about our upcoming move.

I am thankful for...God’s grace and the love in my life and unexpected blessing.

From the kitchen...mac ‘n cheese tonight.

I am wearing… a beige and brown skirt with a mustard coloured knit and brown ankle boots.

I am creating...not much at the moment as I have no place to create.I am going...to have to do work on my bil’s website tonight

I am reading...A thousand splendid suns.

I am hoping...that all will pan out with the timing of our move to the house.

I am hearing...the aircon L.

Around the house...there is so much packing and painting to be done.

One of my favorite things...the way G-man snuggles in my neck … how Lambert asked to lie in my bed for 5 minutes in the morning.

A few plans for the rest of the week...get the report finished at work, do some reading, do some work on my own website.

A picture to share... (coming soon)

Bruised ...

I just went onto facebook and found that a friend from my previous life had sent me a friend request. I gladly accepted as he's incredibly special to me, so much so, that he's one of the few non related men I truly consider family.
So I browsed around his profile and went to look at his photos, and for a few moments, a rush of emotions crashed over me ... surprising how they catch you off guard so unexpectedly. I am so happy with life right now (well almost all the parts of my life) but there are moments, when the loss and disappointment of what was lost rears its ugly head; the dashed dreams, broken heart, muddled feelings and humiliation still can overwhelm me at times. As G-man said earlier this week, there are still bruises - as much as I wanted to deny it, I admit, there are still bruises.
Here's to healing, letting go and getting over ... it's so much better on this side of the mountain!
Love you G-man!!!

The waiting game ...

is always the hardest part of any event ... and for us right now, it's the 'long' wait. The bond is approved, monies are being paid and sorted and now the wait until we can move into the house. We opted to move on transfer as our rental where we are is low, so I'm hoping that the transfer happens closer to the end of the notice period, but also that we have time to move without a crazed dash for the finish line.
At least there's lots to keep me busy in the meantime ... firstly watching the spending, secondly packing, tossing and then more packing and making sure the house we're in is in good shape when we leave. We will need to touch up some walls, so I'm going to need to get paint. And paint.
I'm truly excited about our move!! I can finally have a scrapbooking space ... and my own closet again!!!
Have a fab day
